Breathing Worlds: Galaxy in Revolt

Fight, build, trade and talk your way across a galaxy at war with itself.

An open-world galaxy where every star, planet and town is generated as you discover it. Every world has its own land, weather and creatures, and its peoples live in every age from the stone age to post-scarcity. Land anywhere and live however you want.

Discover

  • Uncharted worlds generated from the seed, each with its own creatures.
  • Fly down through the atmosphere and land wherever you aim. No loading screens.
  • Worlds keep living while you're away. Factions rise, people revolt, towns grow or burn.

Live your way

  • Farmer, miner, merchant, builder, raider or space pirate. Stay on any world.
  • Endless quests that never repeat and follow the way you play.
  • Build and dig anywhere. Run businesses and hire people.

Talk & command

  • Speak to anyone in your own words, and they answer in theirs.
  • Give orders in plain language to your crew, squad, workers and fleet.

Fight

  • First or third person, with fighting styles for every age.
  • Blades, bows, guns and lasers. Cover, bullet drop, destructible ground.
  • Ships you will walk aboard (interiors still being built). Damage is physical and repaired by hand.

A real economy

  • Everything is made from something. Mine ore, smelt it, build up to a ship.
  • Business to business trade across the stars, driven by supply and demand.

Peoples of the galaxy

  • 11 playable races, varying from world to world.
  • Reputation with each power, which decides what ships you can buy.
  • Standard or hardcore mode.

In development

Breathing Worlds is for Windows PC, made by a solo developer building with AI: Claude writes the code and Tripo makes the 3D models. Most of what's described above exists in a simple form and still needs a lot of fine tuning, and the whole process is documented in public, including what goes wrong. Test builds and news will be posted on the channels below first.
